About Semey State Medical University

Semey State Medical University was founded on 1 September 1953 with the opening of its Faculty of Medicine, which enrolled the first 320 students, following a 1952 decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Soviet Union. Over the decades, the university has produced more than 25,000 graduates working in Kazakhstan and abroad, including academicians, parliamentary deputies, and heads of regional health departments.
