Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University was established on October 13, 2010 by an order of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. The Universitys greatest alumnus is Immanuel Kant, the world-famous philosopher, who was a Russian citizen for some time. The name of I. Kant forever linked the city of Konigsberg and the Albertina University with the global history of culture and became the trademark of the region The Universitys mission is to become a national university centre with leading expertise in new areas and activities based on breakthrough achievements in biomedical, neuro-, and nanotechnology, a university setting technological standards and training highly qualified professionals with an opportunity to build a career across the world. A priority is research and development in biomedical and neurotechnology to create products and services prolonging active human life.
